CONVENTION FEEDBACK REPORT
SAATCA proudly hosted the 12th Annual International Auditor convention with 149 delegates attending a very successful and professional event.
The overall feedback from delegates was very positive in terms of venue, speakers, organisation and value for money with an emphasis that the venue remains ideal, the high standard of organisation of this annual event remains impressive and SAATCA must endeavour to ensure that this annual event continues to be hosted.
Most positive aspects of the event were noted as follows:
- The International Speaker was excellent and delegates would benefit if SAATCA were able to invite more international guests.
- The information about China was very well received.
- An opportunity for one to reflect on the practical experiences of the ISO 9001.
- Talks allow for a lot of interaction and engage all participants with common interest
- Excellent experience for one to learn about other countries and share a cultural exchange concerning quality issues.
Most Negative aspects of the event were noted as follows:
- The lack of enthusiasm of some speakers raised concerns as this tends to make the talk dull and does not give opportunity for interaction with delegates.
- Time management
SAATCA 12th ANNUAL CONVENTION PROGRAMME AND PRESENTATIONS
The objective of this year’s programme was to focus on auditing and the various experiences encountered throughout the auditing careers of the industry experts that presented papers. Presentations were delivered by 15 speakers, including two international speakers, who aimed to share their knowledge and experiences with an emphasis on highlighting problems incurred and providing the delegates with effective auditing tools. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Ivor Blumenthal, CEO of the Services SETA and focused on the role of organisation in terms of Sector Education and Job creation within the Services Industry.
In order to ensure that a professional level of competence was both maintained and improved presentations covered auditing experiences related to quality, environmental, Health and Safety and HIV Aids Management providing delegates who attended with beneficial Continual Professional Development.
The feedback from delegates indicated that majority of the presentations were very well received and that the level of most speakers were excellent especially the International speaker. It must however be noted that delegates indicated 2-3 of the speakers lacked the energy required and did not succeed in delivering any message.

Tour of Sterkfontein & Maropeng |
| |
| |
| |
This year saw the programme ending with a fun but informative networking opportunity. Delegates were transported to the Maropeng World Heritage site in the heart of the Cradle of Humankind with a registered Tour Guide who shared the secrets of our ancestry. Maropeng means “returning to the place of origin” in Setswana and by joining this experience delegates went to the birthplace of humanity.
The tour was exceptionally informative and enjoyed by all who participated in the tour leaving delegates overwhelmed by the experience and knowledge gained about the birthplace of humanity right on our doorstep. |
